"Fly to St. Thomas and meet your charter yacht crew! You'll be glad you did!"

The U.S. purchased the Virgin Islands from
Denmark in 1917, and the architecture and
Danish flavor still fills the town of Charlotte
Amalie. Named for a Danish queen, Charlotte
Amalie is the main city on the island of St.
Thomas, and is also the capital of the United
States Virgin Islands.
One of St. Thomas’ claims to fame as the
Caribbean’s pre-eminent cruise ship
destination, so duty free shopping and exciting
excursions abound.
From the old days as a Free Port, Charlotte
Amalie enjoyed duty free status, which now
means perfumes, liquor, jewelry, watches and
electronics can be had at substantial savings.
There are also museums, galleries and
restaurants to show you the island and its
peoples. Leaving from Charlotte Amalie’s
waterfront and the nearby Havensight cruise
ship docks are SCUBA dive boats, day sails,
even trips aboard a real submarine. Of course
on board your own crewed charter yacht,
SCUBA diving and Caribbean sailing are part
of the package around St. Thomas Virgin
Islands!
