1. To promote and encourage charter yacht vacations in the Virgin Islands and increase public

2. To provide members services such as merchandise discounts, insurance discounts and
increase buying power to help yachts increase their profitability.

DPNR and Customs & Immigrations regulations. To reach out to our government and tourism

The VICL Board of Governors is pleased to introduce:
Executive Director- Erik Ackerson:
Originally from Kansas City where he was a professional chef then
a food service territory sales manager, Erik made the Virgin Islands
his home in 1998 taking over the reigns as General Manager of
Quality Food Corporation until it was sold.

a food service territory sales manager, Erik made the Virgin Islands
his home in 1998 taking over the reigns as General Manager of
Quality Food Corporation until it was sold.
As the current President of the Texas Society of the Virgin Islands, one of the largest and most
popular fundraising events of the year, it has been the community involvement and money raised
for local on-island charities through the annual Chili Cook Off that brings him the greatest
satisfaction and finds him busy during the month of August.
A Water Island resident, Erik is a member of the W.I. Search and Rescue, W.I. Civic Association,
Navy League as well as a Red Cross volunteer.
When not enjoying a swim at Honeymoon Beach, painting watercolors or reading, he is reading
and enjoying any time spent out on the ocean.
He host the very popular radio program "On the Water" which is heard twice weekly on Radio
One 1000am or on-line at www.amg.vi (WVWI) every Wednesaday from 3-4 pm and every
Saturday from 8-9 am.
A love of the water and sailboats means VICL is a perfect fit for advancing the betterment of the
local charter business in the Virgin Islands.
We need every VICL member- term crewed charter, day sail charter and fishing charter to
volunteer their business talents on the Board. VICL has been a not-for-profit organization run by
special people like you since 1968. Please do your part and get involved!
