Virgin Islands Charteryacht League Mission Statement
The Virgin Islands Charter Yacht League is a non profit organization whose objective is to
improve the crewed yacht charter business in the U.S. Virgin Islands through public relations,
advertising and promotion.
The purpose for this organization is to act as a voice for the charter yachts and insure the
promotion of charter yacht vacations. We will also work diligently to protect the mutual interests
of the industry.

The VICL Board of Governors is pleased to introduce:
Executive Director- Erik Ackerson:
Originally from Kansas City where he was a professional chef then
a food service territory sales manager, Erik made the Virgin Islands
his home in 1998 taking over the reigns as General Manager of
Quality Food Corporation until it was sold in 2007.

a food service territory sales manager, Erik made the Virgin Islands
his home in 1998 taking over the reigns as General Manager of
Quality Food Corporation until it was sold in 2007.
As the current President of the Texas Society of the Virgin Islands, one of the largest and most
popular fundraising events of the year, it has been the community involvement and money raised
for local on-island charities through the annual Chili Cook Off that brings him the greatest
satisfaction and finds him busy during the month of August.
A Water Island resident, Erik is a member of the W.I. Search and Rescue, W.I. Civic Association,
Navy League, St Thomas / St John Chamber of Commerce, Rotary St Thomas as well as a Red
Cross volunteer.
When not enjoying a swim at Honeymoon Beach, painting watercolors, playing the guitar or
reading several books a week, he is enjoying any time spent out on the ocean.
He hosts the very popular radio program "On the Water" which is heard twice weekly on Radio
One 1000am or on-line at www.amg.vi (WVWI) every Wednesday from 3-4 pm and every Saturday
from 8-9 am.
A love of the water and sailboats means VICL is a perfect fit for his goal of advancing the
